The
Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has denied stories making the rounds
that it is planning to embark on a recruitment exercise soon.
Addressing
newsmen in Abuja on Wednesday, the Public Relations Officer, Emmanuel Okeh
warned youth and the general public from falling prey to employment racketeers
who extort money from unsuspecting job seekers.
The
statement however confirmed a request was sent to the federal government
earlier in the year for additional personnel to be recruited, but the final
word on that request has not been heard.
The
corps warned that any individual or group who fails victim to the employment
fraudsters will have only themselves to blame.
